Lab testing you do at home

Lab tests you do at home. A test kit arrives by post, you take the sample yourself and send it back postage paid. You see the result in the Evi app.

The analysis is done by a partner laboratory in Germany. The evaluation takes 7–21 days from the arrival of the sample at the laboratory.

Which sample for which analysis

The sample type decides what can be measured. Some values exist only in blood, others only in stool or saliva.

MaterialWhat is measuredEntnahme
Kapillarblut Nutrients, fatty acids, hormones, inflammation markers, metabolism Lancet from the kit, fingertip, morning, fasting
Stuhl Gut flora, gut barrier, digestive function, inflammation in the gut At home, with the tube provided
Urin Neurotransmitters and their breakdown products, heavy metals, oxidative stress Morning or collected urine, depending on the test
Speichel Cortisol across the day, sex hormones Several samples across the day, at set times
Atemluft Lactose and fructose absorption, bacterial overgrowth Tubes at set intervals, start while fasted

For every sample type the evaluation takes 7–21 days from arrival of the sample at the laboratory. Packages covering several sample types include a separate set in the kit for each one. Each product states which sample type its analysis needs.

Common questions

Questions on the tests

Which analysis suits me?

It depends on whether you want a broad overview or have one specific question. Prevent 360 covers six areas; a single value such as vitamin D suits tracking change over time.

The questionnaire narrows it down in five minutes, the initial consultation takes ten minutes and is free. This page recommends nothing.

Can I really take the sample myself?

Yes. For capillary blood you need the lancet supplied and about ten minutes; depending on the analysis, between 40 and 120 microlitres are needed.

The illustrated instructions and the film “How to take your sample” show every step before you buy.

How long does the evaluation take?

7–21 days from the arrival of the sample at the laboratory, not from the order. You are notified by email as soon as the results are in.

The same figure applies to packages with several sample types.

Who analyses the sample?

A partner laboratory in Germany. The method is named on the product page of every analysis, for example mass spectrometry or ELISA.

Every value is reported with the laboratory's reference range.

Do I need a prescription?

No. The analyses can be ordered without a prescription.

For a possible refund from private insurance, the route runs via a short online consultation and a referral.

How do I send the sample back?

From Germany postage paid; the return packaging is enclosed ready to use. From Austria, Switzerland and the rest of Europe, please pay the postage yourself.

Austria posts to our address in Vienna; Switzerland uses the separate return bag.

What happens with the result?

You receive a PDF with all values and the matching reference range, plus the view in the Evi app.

What a single value means in your situation is something you discuss with a practitioner. This does not replace medical assessment.
