Family Balance
Health is rarely a matter for one person alone.
A family shares a kitchen, a daily routine and the same pressures. If several people in the household have similar complaints, it makes sense to look at their values side by side rather than one at a time.
You take the samples at home. A partner laboratory evaluates them. You discuss the lab reports with a doctor or a non-medical practitioner.

What a family shares
Children take on more than eating habits from their parents: they also take on part of the gut flora. Everyone in the household shares the water, the home, the sleep pattern and often the same stress. That is why complaints often do not appear on their own.
If one child struggles to concentrate, a parent is exhausted and someone else has digestive trouble, those can be three separate issues. They can also have one cause. Which of the two it is only becomes clear once the values sit side by side.

The results appear in the Evi app. Then an appointment, singly or together.
Results are ready 7–21 days after the sample reaches the laboratory. Depending on the test, the methods suit children from age four.

Family Balance – common questions
What is ORY Family Balance?
Family Balance is not an analysis of its own but a shared framework: from three people in one household you order together, get 10 % off the analyses and can go through the lab reports in one joint appointment. Which analyses you choose is up to you, or you decide after a consultation.
How do we get the 10 % discount?
Write to us using the form on this page or directly to contact@ory-berlin.de, with your names and the number of people. We will send you a personal discount code by email, which you enter when ordering. The code applies to all analyses in that order.
Does everyone need the same analysis?
No. Each person can choose a different analysis. What counts is the number of tests in the order, not which ones they are.
Are the tests suitable for children?
From the age of four, depending on the method. Stool and urine samples are easy for children; capillary blood needs a brief prick in the fingertip. If you are unsure, settle that beforehand in the free initial consultation.
What sample is needed?
That depends on the analysis: capillary blood from the fingertip for nutrients and fatty acids, a stool sample for the microbiome, a urine sample for neurotransmitters and metabolic products. Everything you need is in the test kit, including the return envelope.
How long until the result?
The result is ready 7–21 days after the sample arrives at the laboratory. If you send the samples in together, the lab reports usually come within the same period.
Where are the lab reports and who sees them?
The lab reports are ready in the Evi app. Each person has their own access and decides who may see their values. Access can be withdrawn at any time. Evi stores and displays; a person does the interpreting.
Do we get a joint appointment?
Yes, you can go through the lab reports in one joint appointment if everyone involved wants that. Anyone who would rather talk alone books their own appointment. Both are possible.
