When is the OM Vital basic profile test set useful?

The basic OM Vital test is ideal for people who want to understand and optimize their cell and metabolic health.
It helps to detect early warning signs such as micronutrient deficiencies, silent inflammation or suboptimal thyroid levels – often before symptoms occur.
Particularly relevant for exhaustion, decreased performance, skin and hair problems, post/long-term COVID, prevention and anti-aging.

Why should I take the test at all?

This test detects functional deficits that are often the cause of fatigue, susceptibility to infections, or hormonal imbalances. Silent inflammation or nutrient deficiencies, in particular, often go unnoticed for a long time – but can be detected and treated early with this test.

What can I actually do with the results – what is the test good for?

With the personalized results report, you can see exactly where your body needs support. The values provide insights into:
• Cellular stress
• Inflammatory processes
• Nutrient & coenzyme status
• Thyroid regulation
• Mitochondrial performance
These findings form the basis for targeted nutritional supplementation, lifestyle adjustments, or therapeutic steps.

Who is the test suitable for?

Leberwerte
• ALP (alkaline phosphatase): Elevated in bile duct liver or bone diseases
• GGT (gamma-glutamyltransferase): Elevated in liver disease alcohol misuse or bile duct disorders
• AST (GOT): Elevated in liver damage but also in heart or muscle conditions
• ALT (GPT): More specific for liver damage as it is mainly found in the liver

Kidney values
• Creatinine: Elevated in reduced kidney function kidney failure or dehydration
• Uric acid: Byproduct of purine metabolism; high levels in gout and kidney disorders

Thyroid values
• Thyroglobulin: Protein tumor marker used to monitor thyroid conditions
• TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone):
– High → Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
– Low → Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)

How often should I take the test?

Vitamin D (Calciferol)
Supports calcium and phosphate metabolism to build and maintain strong bones
Natural sources: sunlight, fish oil, fortified milk, eggs

Vitamin E (Tocopherols/Tocotrienols)
Acts as a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from free radicals
Found in: vegetable oils, nuts, seeds, spinach, broccoli

Vitamin B9 (Folate/Folic Acid)
Essential for DNA synthesis and cell division
Best sources: leafy green vegetables, citrus fruits, beans, fortified grains

Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)
Crucial for blood formation and nervous system health
Available in: meat, fish, dairy products, fortified foods

Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone)
Not a vitamin but vital for cellular energy (ATP production) and antioxidant defense
Naturally produced in the body; also found in organ meats (heart, liver), fish, nuts, seeds, broccoli, spinach

Is the test reliable?

hsCRP – High Sensitivity C Reactive Protein

Precise blood test that detects very low CRP levels, revealing even subtle inflammatory activity in the bloodstream

Early inflammation marker made by the liver; rises when the body responds to hidden infection or chronic tissue damage

Cardiovascular risk signal: persistent high hsCRP indicates vessel inflammation and is linked to greater chances of atherosclerosis, heart attack and stroke

Comprehensive risk profiling: pairing hsCRP with cholesterol, blood pressure and lifestyle data delivers a clearer picture of heart health and supports preventive care decisions

Can I take the result to my doctor?

Symptoms of Iron Deficiency Anemia

• Pale skin, brittle nails and hair loss
• Shortness of breath, heart palpitations and dizziness
