Evaluation usually takes 7–21 days from the arrival of the sample at the laboratory, not from the order. As soon as your results are in, we let you know straight away.
  • 15–21 fatty acids, one sample Complete fatty acid profile including the Omega-3 Index and trans fats
  • EPA/AA ratio Shows the balance between anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory fatty acids
  • Sample taken at home A small prick on the fingertip
  • Results consultation included Evaluation by the expert team

The approach

Measure first, then decide

Without measured values, any treatment is guesswork. We turn the order around: first the lab report, then the decision.

Consultation to put the measured values in context
  1. 01
Measure 15–21 fatty acids from one capillary blood sample, analysed at the partner laboratory in Germany.
Omega-3/6 test · capillary blood · 7–21 days from sample arrival
  2. 02
See where you stand Every value appears in the lab report alongside the laboratory reference range. You can see which values fall inside it and which do not.
    Lab report including consultation
  3. 03
Targeted rather than blanket Instead of a standard package, you take what your values point to — agreed with a practitioner.
    Initial consultation, 10 minutes, free
  4. 04
Measure again after a few months The same analysis a second time shows how the values have changed.
    Earliest sensible interval: 3 months

What a value means, and whether a supplement is right for you, is something to discuss with a practitioner. This page makes no recommendation and is no substitute for medical assessment.

What this analysis includes

What is measured

15–21 fatty acids from one capillary blood sample, including the Omega-3 Index, EPA/AA ratio and trans fats.

N1010 Omega-3 fatty acids EPA, DHA, Omega-3 Index
N1010 Omega-6 fatty acids Arachidonic acid, EPA/AA ratio
N1010 Trans fatty acids An additional marker for the fat quality of the diet

The biomarker reference explains what lies behind the numbers: how values interact, which cofactors are involved and which biochemical processes take place in the body — for all values and areas, not only this analysis.

To the biomarker reference

For whom

The Omega-3/6 test suits anyone who wants to look into silent inflammation, exhaustion or a raised cardiovascular risk caused by an imbalance between omega-3 and omega-6 — one of the most common causes, and usually an unnoticed one.

What a single value means in your situation is something to discuss with a practitioner. It does not replace medical assessment.

How it works

Four steps from order to lab report.

  1. 01 Kit arrives Ships the next working day, postage paid to your door.
  2. 02 Take the blood A small prick on the fingertip.
  3. 03 Send it in Post it in the postage-paid envelope.
  4. 04 Lab report arrives 7–21 days after the sample reaches the laboratory, consultation included.

Instructions

The essentials first:

  • Warm the hand up well first, clean the finger with an alcohol swab and let it dry.
  • Prick the side of the fingertip and fill the tube.
  • Close the tube tightly and post it in the postage-paid envelope.

Please read the instructions carefully. Correct preparation matters: only then can your sample – stool, urine, saliva or blood – be evaluated cleanly and meaningfully.

Testing for families and partners

Testing together shows connections a single analysis cannot make visible. We need three things for it.

Clear details per person For everyone tested we need a name and date of birth so the laboratory can match everything correctly.
A separate email address Each person needs their own email for secure digital access. Where that is not possible, we send the results as a PDF to one shared address.
Unambiguous labelling Samples and forms must each be assigned to exactly the right person.

From three tests of the same analysis for the family, you get 10 % off. Write to us and we will send your personal discount code.

Reimbursement by private insurance

For possible reimbursement by your private insurer, this is how it works with us:

01 A short online consultation with one of our therapists We go through your symptoms and put together a short, suitable case history.
02 A referral for the appropriate lab tests After the consultation you receive a referral you can submit to your private insurer.

Many private insurers cover the cost in full or in part – some not at all. That depends solely on your contract. We support you through the process as well as we can.
