Toxacell package – chlorella, spirulina, selenium, D3 + K2, herbal teas

The package consists of three food supplements and two herbal teas that are also sold individually:

• Toxacell: 180 capsules with chlorella, spirulina, MSM, artichoke, green tea, green coffee, cranberry and turmeric extract, alpha-lipoic acid, quercetin, resveratrol, B vitamins, molybdenum and selenium
• Selenium: 100 capsules, each with 200 µg selenium from sodium selenite
• Vitamin D3 + K2: 120 capsules, each with 60 µg vitamin D3 and 75 µg vitamin K2
• liver tea: 60 g herbal blend of milk thistle, dandelion, chamomile, yarrow, peppermint and wormwood
• kidney tea: 60 g herbal blend of birch leaves, nettle root, goldenrod, rose hip, horsetail and calendula

The teas are organically grown. The full composition is on each product page.

Each product is taken according to its own label; there is no shared package dosage.

• Toxacell: three capsules twice a day with 200 ml water, about half an hour before lunch and dinner, not on an empty stomach. The tub lasts about one month.
• Selenium: one capsule daily, the tub lasts 100 days.
• Vitamin D3 + K2: the label does not state a fixed daily amount; clarify beforehand how much suits you.
• Liver tea and kidney tea: pour water at 80 °C over one to two teaspoons per cup and leave to steep for five to eight minutes.

The package is put together for one month; selenium and Vitamin D3 + K2 last longer.

Bought individually, the five products cost €110.90 in total: Toxacell €48.50, selenium €15.90, Vitamin D3 + K2 €27.50, liver tea €9.50 and kidney tea €9.50. The package costs €105.80, so you save €5.10, about 4.6 %.

No, such an effect is neither authorised nor proven. "Slag" or "toxins" in the detox sense is not a medical concept; metabolic products and foreign substances are continuously eliminated via the liver, kidneys, gut and lungs. A critical review of detox products and diets found no randomised controlled trials in humans showing a benefit (PubMed 25522674).

The package combines products that many people use during a conscious fasting or dietary phase. If you are worried about exposure to pollutants, for example through your job or your home, this should be assessed by a doctor.

Authorised claims exist only for the vitamins and minerals contained in sufficient amounts. For selenium (200 µg per capsule, 364 % of the reference value), for example:

• Selenium contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
• Selenium contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
• Selenium contributes to normal thyroid function.

For Vitamin D3 + K2: vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin D and vitamin K contribute to the maintenance of normal bone. Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting.

There are no authorised health claims for chlorella, spirulina, MSM, the plant extracts in Toxacell or the herbal teas, including none on the liver, kidneys or detoxification.

Chlorella and spirulina are microalgae rich in protein and chlorophyll with some minerals. Meta-analyses of trials using mostly several grams a day found small changes in blood lipids and body weight (PubMed 37263369) (PubMed 42420253); the authors advise cautious interpretation.

Six capsules of Toxacell contain less than 300 mg of the two algae combined, far less than in these trials. There are no robust studies showing that chlorella removes pollutants from the human body.

Both names refer to traditionally used herbal tea blends. The liver tea contains milk thistle, dandelion, chamomile, yarrow, peppermint and wormwood; its bitter compounds give it a tart taste. The kidney tea contains birch leaves, nettle root, goldenrod, rose hip, horsetail and calendula.

Both teas are foods, not medicines. No effect on the liver or kidneys is authorised for them; they are a drink that can be part of a fasting or tea routine.

Since 2022, the EU has required warnings for food supplements containing green tea extract, because high amounts of its constituent EGCG have been linked to liver damage. For Toxacell, therefore:

• Do not consume if other products containing green tea are consumed on the same day.
• Not to be consumed by pregnant or breastfeeding women or children under 18.
• Do not consume on an empty stomach.

The two herbal teas in the package do not contain green tea. Other supplements with green tea extract, such as some multi-nutrient or weight-loss products, should not be taken on the same day.

Yes. Since 2023, the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) has recommended no more than 40 µg selenium per daily portion for food supplements; one selenium capsule contains 200 µg. Toxacell also contains selenium, so the amounts add up. EFSA has set the upper level for total intake at 255 µg per day.

Vitamin D3 + K2 is also above the proposals: 60 µg vitamin D per capsule compared with a BfR proposal of 20 µg, and 75 µg vitamin K2 compared with 25 µg. Whether and for how long these amounts make sense for you is something to clarify with the ORY expert team or with your doctor or naturopath.

Because of the green tea extract, Toxacell is not intended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or people under 18. For resveratrol: anyone taking medicines should consume the product only under medical supervision. Alpha-lipoic acid can affect blood sugar, which matters with diabetes (PubMed 30086435).

Vitamin K2 and algae such as chlorella can supply vitamin K; with anticoagulants such as phenprocoumon this should be discussed with a doctor beforehand. The same applies to selenium if you have a thyroid condition. Do not use the teas if you have known plant allergies, and discuss them with a doctor beforehand if you have kidney disease.
