Vitamin set: coenzyme Q10, Vitacell, vitamin D3 + K2 & herbal tea

The bundle contains four products that are also sold individually:

• coenzyme Q10 ubiquinol spray: 50 ml. Three sprays a day provide 30 mg ubiquinol, the reduced form of coenzyme Q10. Contains soy.
• Vitacell: 180 capsules. Six capsules provide 80 mg vitamin C and 12 mg vitamin E (100 % of the reference intake each), 10 µg vitamin D (200 %) and 82.5 mg choline, plus mushroom and plant extracts, amino acids, enzymes and green tea extract.
• vitamin D3 + K2: 120 capsules. One capsule contains 60 µg vitamin D3 (1,200 %) and 75 µg vitamin K2 (100 %).
• energy tea (Energie-Tee): 60 g herbal tea blend with rooibos, lemongrass, ginger, hibiscus, liquorice root and other herbs, caffeine-free.

The vitamin D3 + K2 product page does not state a fixed daily amount; all figures here refer to one capsule.

• Q10 spray: three sprays spread over the day, let them dissolve on the tongue, ideally with a meal containing fat.
• Vitacell: 6 capsules a day with plenty of fluid, not on an empty stomach. Lasts 30 days.
• Vitamin D3 + K2: the product page states no daily amount. At one capsule a day, the tub lasts 120 days. How much makes sense is best decided after a measurement.
• Energy tea: 1–2 teaspoons per cup with water at 80 °C, steep for 5–8 minutes.

Vitamin D, vitamin K2 and coenzyme Q10 are fat-soluble and are usually absorbed better with a meal. Do not exceed the recommended daily amounts.

Bought individually, the four products cost €233.40 together (Q10 spray €126.50, Vitacell €69.90, vitamin D3 + K2 €27.50, energy tea €9.50). The bundle costs €221.70, so you save €11.70 or 5 %. The Q10 spray accounts for the largest share of the price.

A statement such as “more energy” is not authorised for foods. Claims are authorised for individual vitamins and for choline, because the daily amounts reach the required minimum, among others:

• Vitamin C contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism.
• Vitamin C contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
• Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
• Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
• Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function.
• Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting.
• Choline contributes to normal lipid metabolism.

There are no authorised claims for coenzyme Q10, the mushroom and plant extracts or the tea herbs.

A meta-analysis of 13 trials with 1,126 participants found slightly lower scores on fatigue questionnaires with coenzyme Q10 than with placebo; higher daily amounts and longer use were associated with larger differences (PubMed 36091835). Many trials involved people with pre-existing conditions. The spray provides 30 mg a day; the results cannot simply be applied to this amount. There is no authorised claim.

If you are looking for vitamins for tiredness, keep in mind: persistent exhaustion has many possible causes, such as iron deficiency, thyroid disease, sleep disorders or infections. If it lasts for weeks, it should be assessed by a doctor.

Yes, for vitamin D and vitamin K2. Vitacell (10 µg) and one capsule of vitamin D3 + K2 (60 µg) add up to 70 µg vitamin D a day. The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) proposes no more than 20 µg per day for food supplements; EFSA has set a tolerable upper intake level of 100 µg for total intake.

One capsule also contains 75 µg vitamin K2; the BfR proposes no more than 25 µg. Vitamin C (80 mg) and vitamin E (12 mg) are below the proposals. Whether vitamin D makes sense for you, and how much, is best discussed with the ORY expert team or with your doctor or naturopath.

The products have not been studied together for simultaneous use. These points matter most:

• Anticoagulants: vitamin K can weaken the effect of vitamin K antagonists such as phenprocoumon or warfarin; coenzyme Q10 and the enzymes in Vitacell can also affect clotting. Only after speaking to a doctor.
• Vitacell contains trans-resveratrol and green tea extract (36 mg EGCG a day): if you take medicines, only under medical supervision, not on an empty stomach, not on the same day as other products with green tea.
• Daily amounts of vitamin D add up with any other supplements, including multivitamins.
• Liquorice root in the tea can raise blood pressure in larger amounts.
• Contains soy (Q10 spray, Vitacell) and sulphite (Vitacell).

Because of the green tea extract in Vitacell, the bundle is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women or for people under 18. With a soy or sulphite allergy, plant allergies to tea ingredients or while taking anticoagulants, it is also not suitable without speaking to a doctor.

With conditions affecting calcium balance, such as kidney stones or raised calcium levels, talk to your doctor before taking vitamin D.
