Principle

Measure first, then decide

Without measured values, prevention is guesswork. We turn the order around: the lab report first, then the decision.

A consultation to make sense of the values
  1. 01
Measure 5 markers from one stool sample, analysed in the partner laboratory in Germany.
ColoAlert · stool sample · 7–21 days from sample arrival
  2. 02
See where you stand Every value is in the lab report with the lab's reference range. You can see which values sit inside it and which do not.
Lab report including a 15-minute discussion
  3. 03
Targeted, not generic You discuss any unusual values with a practitioner — about what to do next, not about a diagnosis.
    Initial consultation, 10 minutes, free
  4. 04
Repeat regularly Prevention depends on regularity, not on a single measurement.
Agree the interval with your practitioner

ORY experts stay with you

Doctors and Heilpraktiker from the ORY team are there for you the whole way — with your lab report and with whatever follows.

Initial consultation

What a value means, and whether a supplement is right for you, is something to discuss with a practitioner. This page makes no recommendation and is no substitute for medical assessment.

What is in this analysis

What is measured

5 markers for early detection of bowel cancer from a single stool sample — two genetic markers, human DNA and two blood markers.

H205 KRAS mutation PCR detection in the KRAS oncogene, one of the most common genetic changes in colorectal tumours
H205 BRAF mutation PCR detection in the BRAF oncogene, an additional genetic marker
H205 Human DNA Quantitative measurement, a sign of increased shedding of cells from the bowel lining
H205 Haemoglobin (immunological) Sensitive ELISA detection of blood in stool
H205 Haemoglobin/haptoglobin An additional blood marker for bleeding from deeper parts of the bowel

The biomarker reference explains what lies behind the numbers: how values interact, which cofactors are involved and which biochemical processes take place in the body — for all values and areas, not only this analysis.

For whom

ColoAlert is particularly suitable for people from 45 onwards, with a family history or risk factors such as excess weight, smoking, little exercise or an unbalanced diet — and especially for people without symptoms who want to take precautions, since bowel cancer often causes no symptoms in its early stages.

What a single value means in your situation is something you discuss with a practitioner. This does not replace medical assessment or a screening colonoscopy.

How it works

Four steps from order to lab report.

  1. 01 Kit arrives Ships the next working day, postage paid to your door.
  2. 02 Take the sample Stool sample with catcher and dosing stick, about five minutes.
  3. 03 Send it in To the laboratory in the transport container and postage-paid bag, not on Fridays.
  4. 04 Get your lab report 7–21 days after the sample arrives, with a 15-minute discussion if you want one.

Instructions

Collecting the sample takes about five minutes. The key points first:

  • When catching the stool, avoid any contact with toilet water, and do not collect during menstruation.
  • Postpone collection during acute stomach or bowel trouble or open haemorrhoidal bleeding; ideally collect in the morning.
  • Do not post on Fridays or before public holidays, so the sample reaches the laboratory in time.

Please read the instructions carefully. Correct preparation matters: it is what allows your sample — stool, urine, saliva or blood — to be evaluated cleanly and meaningfully.

Family and partner diagnostics

Testing together shows connections that a single analysis does not make visible. We need three things for that.

Clear details per person For everyone being tested we need a name and date of birth so the laboratory can match everything correctly.
A separate email address Each person needs their own email for secure digital access. Where that is not possible, we send the results as a PDF to one shared address.
Clear labelling Samples and forms must each be assigned to exactly the right person.

From three tests of the same analysis for the family you get 10 % off. Write to us and you will receive your own discount code.

Reimbursement by private health insurance

This is how it works with us if your private insurance may reimburse you:

01 A short online consultation with one of our therapists We go through your symptoms and take a brief medical history.
02 A referral for the right lab tests After the consultation you receive a referral that you can submit to your private insurer.

Many private insurers cover the cost in full or in part – some not at all. That depends entirely on your policy. We support you through the process as best we can.
