What is oxidative stress?
Oxidative stress is a metabolic condition characterized by an imbalance between free radicals and radical scavengers. Free radicals are oxygen compounds that lack an electron. They are particularly reactive because they strive to replace their missing electron. They do this by stealing electrons from other molecules, which in turn leads to the formation of new free radicals.
How does oxidative stress arise?
